GTA IV dated, confirmed for PC

Rockstar Studios has officially confirmed and given a release date for the PC version of the massive console hit Grand Theft Auto IV, for both North American and European territories.

In North America the game will be launching on the 18th of November, whereas the game will be released a few days later in Europe on the 21st.

"It looks and plays beautifully on PC" said Rockstar founder Sam Houser. "We can't wait for people to play it."

The PC version of the game was always on the cards, but had existed only as a rumour even though previous games in the long-running series had all previously made the jump to the PC platform. This is however the first time that the game has been officially confirmed for the PC.

The Grand Theft Auto series has had a controversial history and this latest title is no exception. GTA IV tells the story of illegal immigrant Niko Bellic as he makes a name for himself in the underworld of Liberty City.

GTA IV was released on consoles worldwide on the 29th of April, selling almost 8.5 million copies. In our own bit-techGrand Theft Auto IV review we gave the game a 9/10 and a recommended award, so we're hopeful of the quality of the PC version.
