At Comic-Con 2008, Epic has announced some new features for the next Gears of War game - including the ability to use backwards-compatible and linked achievements that tie in to the original game.
What does that mean? Well, basically it means that if you've got certain achievements unlocked in the first game then the new Gears of War 2 will detect that and unlock some bonuses and extras for you. If not, well, boo-hoo then.
Epic's Cliff Bleszinski gave three examples of these achievements to Kotaku, so check them below.
Complete Act One in Gears Of War, unlock a playable Anthony Carmine in Gears of War 2
Find 10 COG tags in Gears Of War, unlock Minh Young Kim in Gears of War 2
Kill Raam in Gears Of War, unlock a playable Raam in Gears of War 2Cliff then went on to drop a bit more news about the game, saying that film composer Steve Jablonsky had been recruited to write the score for the new game. Jablonsky's previous work includes the score for the Transformers and Texas Chainsaw Massacre films.
Gears of War 2 is set for release as an Xbox 360 exclusive on the 7th of November this year - not that that bothers Sony though.
Which achievements have you got that you are proud of? Let us know in the forums.
