Dawn of War 2 specs released

If you're excited for the release of THQ's Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War 2 later this year then you may want to take a look at this - it's the minimum and recommended requirements for the PC exclusive Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War 2.

The game itself will be out later this year and will let players get another dose of frenetic RTS action with an expanded faction list and improved graphics - but you'd know all that already if you'd read our Games to Watch in 2009 article.

* Windows XP SP2 or Windows Vista SP1
* P4 3.2 GHz (single core) or any Dual Core processor
* 1 GB RAM (XP), 1.5 GB RAM (Vista)
* A 128MB Video Card (Shader Model 3) - Nvidia GeForce 6600 GT / ATI X1600, or equivalent
* 5.5 GB of Hard Drive space

Recommended
* Windows XP SP2 or Windows Vista SP1
* AMD Athlon 64×2 4400+ or any Intel Core 2 Duo
* 2 GB RAM (XP and Vista)
* A 256MB Video Card (Shader Model 3) - Nvidia GeForce 7800 GT / ATI X1900, or equivalent
* 5.5 GB of Hard Drive space

In other words then, the Essence 2.0 engine that powers Relic's latest strategy epic isn't exactly a polygon-pushing powerhouse. Everyone and their grandma should be able to hit those recommended requirements in this day and age, if you ask us. Pass your own thoughts along in the forums.
